Science Planet Inc. (SPI) is incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (Corporation number: 1036239-5). It is also registered with Registraire des entreprises Quebec (NEQ: 1173291569). The objective of the corporation is to work towards socially benefiting the sections of the society having limited resources with the medium of science. SPI also intends to promote the open access research and its significance to reinstate the original purpose of scholarly publishing which is to disseminate knowledge widely.

NextGen Genomics, Biology, Bioinformatics and Technologies (NGBT) Conference (Oct 02-04, 2017) is organized by SciGenom Research Foundation (SGRF), a not-for-profit organization working to promote Science, Research & Education in India and rest of Asia. NGBT 2017 has formed an alliance with the Canadian Journal of Biotechnology (CJB, published by SPI) by publishing the abstracts of 2017 conference in the special issue of CJB.
